Professional Bodies
One of the aims of the International School for Peace Studies is
to facilitate professional bodies such as Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses,
Medics, Engineers, Writers, Teachers, Police and Army and others,
to trace members of their professions who died in the Great War.
Messines is an ideal starting point for their journey where they
can use the facilities, participate in seminars and briefing sessions,
and feel the unforgettable Messines experience.
Volunteer Guides
It is planned in the near future that The International School
for Peace Studies will offer annually a number of places to students
to personally experience the profound impression the story of the
First World War makes on visitors to the battlefields.
They will be given the opportunity to act as guides on all the
various peace projects in the Messines area as part of a summer
project, an experience which will be immensely fulfilling and personal.
Military Associations
Former Irish Army Lieutenant General (Retired) Gerry McMahon has
agreed with the help of Sir John Gorman C.V.O., C.B.E, M.C., D.L.,
and former Deputy Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, to take
responsibility for organising Military Associations that will participate
in a number of planned keynote events.
