Holocaust Memorial Workshops

Remembering The Holocaust

The Remembering the Holocaust workshops ran from September 2nd 2019 through to the completion of the project on 27th January 2020. This date was significant as it was the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.

The workshops were open to all residents of the Derry and Strabane Council Area and comprised of eight workshops finailising in the Commemoration event on 27th January 2020. The workshops took place at The Ebrington Centre and The Waterside Theatre.

Through a series of eight workshops particippants explored their own prejudice and discrimination, stereotyping and equality issues. Key themes were diversity in society today and the anti-semtic event of the Holocaust.

The workshops were attended by 35 participants.

On the 27th February 2020 a holocaust survivor will be telling his story at The Watersdie Theatre as part of this project. This event is invitation only please contact the crentre for further details.
